Head Coach: Mrs. Heather
Mrs. Heather is the founding Coach of Rhythmics West. Heather is a certified NCCP Level 3 with over 30 years’ experience. She is a retired Calgary teacher and the author of Teaching Rhythmic Gymnastics, published by Human Kinetics 2003. In 2017 the book was translated into the Greek language by University Press A. E. Heather also trains level 1 and 2 coaches.
Coach: Ms. Anna
We are thrilled to welcome Coach Anna to the Rhythmics West Gymnastic Club coaching team.
With 15+ years of rhythmic gymnastics coaching experience in Ukraine and 2.5 years of coaching experience in Canada, Anna brings extensive expertise in competitive training, routine development, and athlete development. Her own rhythmic gymnastics journey began as an athlete, including competing at the 2004 World Championship in Aesthetic Group Gymnastics. In Ukraine, Anna founded and operated her own rhythmic gymnastics club, coaching athletes of all ages and levels, from young gymnasts to Junior and Senior athletes competing at Ukrainian National Championships and international competitions. Since moving to Canada, she has continued working with competitive athletes and developing her coaching expertise. Anna holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Education, is NCCP Competition 1 Certified and NCCP Competition 2 Trained.
Her coaching philosophy goes beyond medals and results. She believes every athlete is unique and should be supported according to their individual strengths, abilities, and pace of development.
Her goal is to help athletes develop strong technical skills, confidence, discipline, and resilience while building a genuine love for rhythmic gymnastics.

Coach: Ms. Vika
Vika is a former rhythmic gymnast and National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Foundations Certified Coach. She brings more than 10 years of coaching experience, including 8 years in China, and is passionate about helping athletes build strong technical foundations, confidence, and a lifelong love for rhythmic gymnastics.
With her extensive experience and dedication to athlete development, Vika strives to create a positive and supportive training environment for gymnasts.
Ms. Vika is an NCCP Competition 1 Trained Coach.
Coach: Ms. Liza
Lisa began training in rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 4 and went on to become a multi-time national champion in Ukraine in rhythmic gymnastics. She also participated in the European Championship in aesthetic group gymnastics, gaining valuable international competitive experience. With a higher education degree (an equivalent to a Master's degree) in Olympic Sports and Sports Rehabilitation, Lisa brings both strong technical knowledge and a thoughtful approach to athlete development. She is an NCCP Foundations Certified Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach and is committed to helping gymnasts build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a love for the sport.
Ms. Liza is an NCCP Competition1 Trained Coach.
Coach: Ms. Stephanie
At the age of 4, Stephanie first started her journey in artistic gymnastics, before transitioning to rhythmic gymnastics at 6 years old, participating in group competitions. She has also competed individually at various levels and has received gold in all routines at the Brittney Hunt Invitational, Elite Alberta, and South and North Zones competition, as well as gold in two routines and silver in one at the Alberta Cup Provincial Championships, Ad Astra Star Cup, and Alberta Artistry Cup in 6A. In 5B, she placed second for ball at the Western Championships, and has performed with a variety of apparatus. She has also had the opportunity to compete as part of a junior development group of five at the Canadian Championships previously, and now uses her experiences in cooperation and competition to encourage and support aspiring gymnasts as they begin their journeys.
Ms. Stephanie is an NCCP Competition1 Trained Coach.
Coach: Ms. Susannah
Susannah began her journey in rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 9, training under Coach Jia Li, a former member of the Chinese National Team, 2004 Athens Olympics Group All-Around competitor, and recognized as Canada’s Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach of the Year in 2023. Under Coach Li’s expert guidance, Susannah has achieved multiple titles over the years, including the Ontario Duo Hoop Championship, 3 Balls Group Championship, 4 Balls Group Gold, and Individual Hoop Silver etc.
Beyond her competitive experience, Susannah is known for her patience and dedication in teaching young gymnasts, inspiring and guiding them with passion as they take their first steps in rhythmic gymnastics.
Ms. Susannah is an NCCP GF Trained Coach.
